You could also look in the Easter eggs from RealMyst there was about 30-40 very blurry pictures of previously unseen areas in D'ni. (from Mudpie developpment).

EDIT: also this unknown building seems to be largely inspired by Antonio Gaudi's work. (Guell Palace Barcelona)
Gaudi's work is really dn'i like if you're looking for inspiration

Agenotfound: If I could, I would give you a great big hug right now! Thank you /so/ much! I've been looking for that real-world architectural style that Mark Engberg was inspired by to make the d'ni we see today. If it isn't the same one, I bet someone in Cyan was inspired by just that. Looking at those windows and doorways/metal grates... It looks like something right out of takotah courtyard.

Thank you very much, again.

where did you find this one?

This is odd indeed.. I have the original version of that file, in one of my Uru Rivealed folders.

But, its not in /any/ of the pure unmodified uru folders. It only ever appears in folders that have had a) Fan Ages and b) Drizzle/OfflineKI.

However, it is in a stock prp's folder. "GUI_District_BkBookImages".

So, it probably is the Temple of Illumination. If it is, why is it in my install? and on that note, why is it in a stock prp's data? I don't have the Temple of Illumination, as much as I'd love to have a look at it, even then, I have no idea why it'd be in that prp, even.

Agenot found: My god you're right. There are similarities between Gaudi's work and D'ni architecture.
I think Gaudi would have liked the D'Ni's fusion cutters.

Looking at La Sagrada Familia, it could replace the library in the City anytime.

Just imagine what Gaudi could have created in D'ni free from the constrictions of gravity the free flowing style that comes to fruition in Sagrada Familia. Could it be that Gaudi was a D'ni age writer trapped in our world and unable to create with age books. He made do with the design materials of our world.

It's a flight of fancy and we can use Gaudi as an inspiration just as we can use William Morris, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jørn Utzon, Christopher Wren, César Pelli, Norman Foster........but unlike all of these we build in a space where we don't have to worry about structural limitations imposed by gravity, wind shear or the tensile strength of knitted fog. :D

The linking panel image that you are mentioning does not probably come from Cyan as it is not present in any version of Uru except the ones with the offline KI
- the Offline-KI uses files from Moul for the KI with modification wich may have been done by GPNMilano wich would explain why it can be found here.

(original one)

the study of linking panels is something really passionating if you take the time.

for instance, here are the linking panels for the Descent, the first one is from ABM the second one from CC

the KI Dispenser is working !
also note that both version have nexus books.

or also the Ercana city silo
ImageImage
first one from ABM second one from CC

and on the other side

To Dn'i and CC

Myst: ABM and CC

note the book on the ground

and the most surprising ones:

Negilahn in to Dn'i - and Moul version

and Daylight Todelmer

Image

(they were two books in the museum liking to those ages at the time)

There is also tons of other stuff in the files that are the remains of the Live Beta as this "component" controller for the KI
Image
wich mean we could have got this kind of KI (the "component"file is still present as late as Moul)
Image

anyway i'm drifting away from the subject of the topic, so no this image does not probably come from Uru.

but unlike all of these we build in a space where we don't have to worry about structural limitations imposed by gravity, wind shear or the tensile strength of knitted fog.

might need to take earthquakes in consideration though :D

Why? Can earthquakes knit fog?

Also if it's in an age and not on Earth is it an earthquake?

They can create 'swirlies' in fog. Maybe that's a form of knitting?

Of course; unless the age is not made up of earth. Earth != earth although Earth is made of ~ 1/3 earth. I suppose one could always use the local terminology for dirt/ground/earth/crust. mmmmm, pie's have crust. Is the Earth a pie? Must investigate further.

Are massing models of Ae'gura in Plasma 1 (before Uru as we know it today was invented...). The character visible in the screenshots was a character from one of the original HeadSpin games named "Simon."
