Perhaps someone's been reading this very thread ;) It looks like it was veralun again this time, and he's now restored it from the recycle bin :P

I am pleasantly surprised at the public responses I am seeing from RAWA I will let you know how I get on with a re post of my direct private questions. ;)

With RAWA's post on the end of that thread maybe he had it dug out so he could respond. (Just a thought).

Hm this mod does sound very interesting, and sounds like a pretty half-assed reply if you ask me sempleri. Ultimately, yeah the modding is up to them, but not sending out a pm doesn't seem right. Are any of you so sure it was you guys that made the forum nazi freak out? I think it would be worth checking to see if any of the other possible candidates might have gotten something, although from what you've said, I doubt that, haha, but its worth checking. That's annoying he should have at least told you WHAT rule you broke, that would have been a little more fair.

If any of you know the rules, have you been digging through to see what (if anything) was the "violation"? And if we can legitamately say that there was none, maybe we can check a few more and see if RAWA can do something about it, I think he cares about his position a little more than Chogon did. He has the authority to remove him right?

I don't believe I am alone in avoiding posts due to over aggressive modding.

The only way I bypassed it previously was to have my suggestion posted by GreyDraggon who was a community manager at the time. This was back when D'mala was closing down and I proposed collecting Kagi keys. but then we all know Cyan pulled the plug on the UU servers. C'est la vie. :|

RAWA: One must follow the path of the pebble until the mountain tumbles down to the ocean and doubts its existentiality.
Rand: Cyan remains committed to providing the best user experience while maintaining our asset's added value in a proactive way.

:) Love the contrast.

I suspect you’re right about permission.

JWPlatt added a new level of complexity but answered the question. MQO will have no effect.

The Still Hope… didn’t get deleted… exactly… it got sorta cloned into 2 threads one is marked (Reposted) or was I can't find the second now. The threads are often inaccessible, if one uses links in their emails. But the threads are still there. For a day or so it was weird. I would be interested in knowing if any posts are missing out of thread.

Nalates: At the time of posting of those messages, it did indeed get deleted. It was later restored.

I note, however, that Dot's Rage-quit has poofed, though.

I posted often in that thread. I never found a time when it was not there. It could have been down for several hours and I would not have caught it. There was a day when it went wonky and emailed links were off target. I think the 12th.

There are a couple of 10 hour gaps in posting and early on a 16 hour one. Around the time veralun chimed in (12th) it is a string of 3 hours gaps or less between posts. Since veralun is in Europe I would likely miss a delete-repost during his day. However, I’ve seen less and less moderating and post removal or thread deletion on MOUL. Or maybe I’m just thinking more posts should be deleted. People from both sides of arguments seem to be unhappy with the moderating, which makes it difficult to substantiate bias.

There are typical large time gaps (10+/-) between posts over night, my night. Usually starting about 9 to 11 PM PST and resuming about 7 AM PST. Otherwise posts on the 12th are about every 1.5 to 3 hours. While it could have been down, it’s hard for me to see when and if so it wasn’t for very long. This is more the type of thread they lock rather than delete.

I don’t see that Dot’s post poof’d. I think she just edited it.

Anyone else see missing posts?

I think you'll find that considerably fewer people fall for that kind of thing here, Nalates. You'll have better luck back at mystonline.com.

What you really want is simply a debate to take part in. You try to see how well you can succeed at convincing people of a viewpoint, *any* viewpoint, by pulling from your toolbelt of rhetorical tricks. This often including mimicking real arguments, and I've even seen you use hollow mimicries of actual arguments from elsewhere in Myst communities. I've said this before, e.g. at http://www.guildofmaintainers.org/Forum/viewtopic.php?p=12316#p12316 and I find it to be an accurate predictor of Nalates' behavior.

Everyone is better off not trying to correct Nalates posts, as she is not actually interested in figuring out what happened, just in seeing what viewpoints she can convince people of. So trying to debate her or correct her just feeds this behavior :P

I love how people are complaining about the structure of one's post without considering the fact that he might not be as stupid as they think he is.
