Texture not Appearing.

If you feel like you're up to the challenge of building your own Ages in Blender or 3ds Max, this is the place for you!

Texture not Appearing.

Postby I.Brattin » Sun Jan 10, 2010 4:35 pm

I have a building modeled and for some unknown reason the texture is not showing up.

I'm not sure whats up. If you look at the building in the attached image you will see everything is white. I have tried 3 different textures and none of which is showing.

Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Is it possible you're applying your texture to the inside of the mesh somehow? Just a guess; I don't really know how these things work...

seems to me as not uv mapped correctly.
Your default material colour is active with orco setting in "texture map input" instead of UV.
Did you apply a UV map? and did you set your texture map input and output ?
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

I am looking at the blend now. Orco wasn't selected, UV was so I switched it. It didn't fix the textures. I give up. I will see if I can get something else in, instead.

Out of curiosity I decided to export from 3DS Max again. This time I told it not to export the materials, when exporting as an obj file you can tell it whether you want materials exported. And then I went and textured it in Blender instead. Its appearing now. Must have been something about that particular texture when exported out of 3ds max that didn't want to show up.

It did resemble the Parthenon a bit.

But then I don't know the first thing about age building ... yet.

Actually it was the Parthenon. But I have ended up scrapping it anyways. Even though I got the textures to appear I had some other problems with that model that I got tired of trying to fix. Of course with my redoing the islands on Chamassa, it might have gotten scrapped anyways.
