Watching

Anything that isn't directly related to Age Creation but that might be interesting to Age developers.

If we had a shard that Cyan came out publicly and said it is 100% OK with them, then believe me when I say that I would be more than happy to join. :)

I find it pretty interesting that words of the watcher are able to fit what the URU community is facing at this point in time. I'm also intrigued by the different interpretations. I think I understand where both sides are coming from. I may as well give my two cents on quotes given. (Keep in mind that this is all strictly opinion, so don't jump down my throat if you don't agree with me. ;) )

The Watcher wrote:The future is always revealed to those who wait.
But the proud have no patience.
Because of pride the destruction will come.

I interpret this as a message at the Uru community, saying that we should be patient and wait for Cyan to come out with OpenUru. The part about impatient and destruction, means that if we do whatever we want, with absolutely no regards or respect to Cyan or their work, Uru Live would not be able to reach it's full potential.

The Watcher wrote:Wait,
if you can be calm,
the way is a simple thing to gain

I think this is implying that waiting can be (at some times) a simple task, with so much to gain in the end for doing so little.

Do I think this means we should sit around and do nothing? Absolutely not. We can always made fan created ages for Uru Complete Chronicles. With new versions of PyPRP and Blender on the horizon, I can only assume that age creation will look better, and become easier.

Do I think we should get Cyan's approval on whatever we can? Of course. Out of respect to the company that made Uru, I figure it is only respectful that we get approval on whatever we can, in terms of modifying something that does not fully belong to us.

My two cents. :)

If you're specifically talking about my recent post, if you don't have the patience or time to read my thoughts, that's your problem; not my problem. ;)

If you are talking about Justin's blog post, that's even less than what I wrote (including the quotes) I'm pretty sure. I don't see how anyone could strain reading something that short. :?

Personally, I think you missed the point of the (still far too long!) "Too Long. Did not Read." (should've been "tl;dr", blast it! =P)

No, that's Dr Hax, created by Dr Breen to take care of hackers. As depicted in The Gmod Idiot Box series.
