Right. Now I need more information. I want to know where this report originated and what was said on either side. Part of me hopes that this is an exaggeration.

Tweek and Amonre (ddfreyne) woke up today and found that they were no longer admins on the MOUL forums. They had been moved to a "Cyan Interns" usergroup (names and posts are no longer blue), and their permissions revoked. Judging by what they were saying in CyanChat, they don't appear to have received any explanation or warning.

Considering that they were working on the forums and website as interns, it's almost a slap in the face to keep them listed as Cyan Interns, but remove their ability to perform any work on the site.

Unbelievable!
One day I ran through the cleft for the fiftieth time, and found that uru held no peace for me anymore.

I think it is understandable. Due to their titles they were often mistaken for official Cyan employees. Obviously Cyan does not want people to think that the opinions they voiced represent Cyan so the change in title makes sense. The revoked permissions are probably just a goof up.

And they discover this JUST after both Tweek and Ddefreyne sign a letter to Cyan asking for veralun's resignation? I don't smell goof up. I smell retribution. Intimidation.

This is unacceptable in any way possible. I can think of nothing else to say.

There's got to be something here more than meets the eye. Either Cyan is turning the forums into totalitarian rule where anyone who speaks against them is silenced (which seems uncharacteristic of them), or there's been some sort of goof up. I prefer to believe the latter. :D IMO we shouldn't jump to conclusions until we have the facts.

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity. Changing the group right after the letter to show the views of those two aren't Cyan's views is a reasonable response from Cyan. The permissions could easily have been goofed during such a change. Let's see if it gets fixed in the next few days before we start assuming anything hostile has happened.

Also, removal of posts critical of a company or their products is very, very common. You don't have to like it (I certainly don't), but it's their prerogative. A lot of us here have too much sense of entitlement when it comes to Cyan. Yes, this sort of thing is not common for them, but who knows what's going on behind-the-scenes these days. Maybe they're trying to look good for a new investor. If you have a grievance with them be polite, and follow the correct channels of who to contact. If you get aggressive, they have no reason not to just ignore you.

Just my $0.02 on the whole matter.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I do disagree with cyan's apparent actions on this matter. I just think we all need to calm the f**k down and try to be adults about it.

We can hope so. I certainly do. It effectively ends Cyan as a professional gaming company otherwise.

People have been nothing but polite. Some people here have been frustrated, but all contact I have had has been polite and serious outlining my concerns pertaining to the threat veralun poses. I just want to get this out there so no one thinks this is some crazy bunch of people getting aggressive with Cyan. These are fans voicing well-documented concerns that need to be addressed.

Removal of critical posts may be common, but that isn't what this is about. NONE of the posts I am referring to were critical of Cyan or Uru IN THE SLIGHTEST. Understood? These were perfectly reasonable posts. One asked for further clarification of an idea for fan Ages. The rest dealt with warning people about Dhelayan's lies and deception. Furthermore, NONE of my PMs to Chogon and RAWA, nor the letter given to Cyan asking for veralun to be removed were critical of Cyan or Uru IN THE SLIGHTEST.

This is why I would like to see what that letter contained as well. I doubt that either intern sent anything impolite, but it's not impossible.

And as for the theory of accidental admin permission removal, are there other interns who have experienced something similar? Are there other interns registered at those forums at all?
