I'm sorry, but being banned is being banned. A banned person has no right to post here no matter the content of the post.

I understand your views, but I cannot make an exception to the policy. Otherwise, we'd have banned people rereging to have one-post-then-rebanned conversations (or attempting to do it more often at the very least).

Thanks for your understanding Hoikas. I understand your position and the need to delete the post to ensure that others don't try the same stunt. I still feel that deleting a post like that is "icky" to me, but I understand the position you need to take and that he was banned and setting a precedent is necessary to ensure future things like that don't happen.

The link is fine :)

And thanks for understanding. Sometimes I have to do things I really don't like. Deleting posts is one of them. :(

Yeah, Dhelayan posts showing he understands he's lied. Then he will lie again. I've seen it now half a dozen times. Look up the word "irredeemable" and you will see a picture of Dhelayan.

To Charura: I'll say it. Yes, you're a dirtbag for choosing to experience Uru through the work of a thief and a liar rather than through the actual developer's work. You are more so because you use snarky sarcasm to try and leverage support.

Huh?..I guess I need to defend myself now...I heard I could join 'a shard' that gave me the opportunity to visit URU with others before MOULa came back...I'm sorry but that opportunity seemed nice to me as I had two options at the time...play alone or play with others and be able to discuss the 'new fan ages'...Well darn it then...I chose to play with others....Now this whole experience has been enlightening to me because I'm young and inexperienced. I never met nor spoke with anyone involved in this 'making of the shard"...I picked it up on an internet search...At the time Drizzle was being used and I was intrigued that there was a 'shard' that actually brought people back to the cavern..Call me naive or whatever...I don't care...I thought it was cool, fun, neat and I could care less about the legal issues...I am back in cavern with 'people' ....I joined their forum and I was ridiculed there for some of my comments about it..Although, I thought maybe my comments, being naive and inexperienced were maybe not worded correctly...I apologized there also..

I do not know anyone involved in the creation of the shard nor do I visit very often anymore because I enjoy MOULa being back and donate every month...I admit to visiting Pelishard on occasion to play the fan ages..Hopefully with others...

If this offends you, I'm sorry....

Nice, yes. But please don't defend a liar just because you were on his shard. He stole the code for that shard from other people who had worked hard on it.

Alcugs is open source. Everyone can "steal" the code if he is telling that he uses alcugs.

See http://forum.guildofwriters.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=3253 for the part where he "stole" Drizzle and OfflineKI, by removing all the names of the original authors and contributors.

I'm not defending anyone here (other than myself..and I am NOT a liar) or there (Pelishard)...I just did not know the background..end of story...sorry if you were hurt by this person....I was not..

My experience in that forum was not nice at all...they actually closed the thread on this note...
Wait..wtf is going on here? Charura, if you dont like the way the forum is, leave. its that simple

so please..do you wish the same?..or can we once again decide this 'REDACTED' forum to be what it was intended for?..I, for one need help on a few things in.... oh WTF

Unfortunately, this is true. I believed him two times. He did it again countless times till then.

However, I don't think it's justified to treat Charura this way - and in no way I want to defend Dhel or Mystler here. I also know some other players on that Shard, and all they wanted is some way to play online again (this was before MOUL was re-born). They said they knew about Dhel's behaviour, but they wanted to play online so desperately, so they did. And honestly, I can, to some extend, understand that. The problem was that all the other Shard admins were not willing to break that unwritten rule of keeping the Shard "under the radar", so it almost seemed as if Pelishard was the only one out there (can we blame Cyan for this?).
Now with MOULa, the situation is much less critical. It's about fan-ages and the converted Myst V etc. ages only. But still, with Cyan being more active now, Shard admins don't seem to want to do their business in public. As long as we don't go and advertise the alternatives, we can't really blame people for playing on PeliShard to meet their friends in fan-ages. Hints about other Shards being run, links to the installation instructions, invitations to send PMs... all that does not seem to be enough.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Was Dhel banned from these forums? I don't think an NDA violation justifies a banning, even though I can't say I miss him :P And a post(s) was deleted? Just because you hate someone, really doesn't mean you should use your mod powers to hold them down. Still, it's no-where near mystonline.com yet, thankfully^^

As said, there are many reasons people prefer an Alcugs shard to Cyan's shard. 1) *Far* more content: 80+ Fan Ages, Myst5 Ages, Crowthistle Ages, Hexisle Ages. 2) More to do: /jump alone can be *tons* of fun! 3) Small family: As Fero said, it can make a nicer, close-knit feeling, where everyone is friends. 4) No Cyan control: Cyan really isn't very kind, despite what some people say. 5) Security: Cyan's shard can be hacked to pieces, because anyone can get on.(I'll have to try out this Bahro trick some time^^) Other shards can control this, since each one controls how open or closed they want to be. 6) Bugs: I had forgot how horribly buggy Moul/Moulagain are. I actually find Alcugs shards to be *less* painful than Cyan's shard. It depends what sort of bugs annoy a person most, I guess.

And furthermore, though I have said it many times before: just because someone *says* you can't do something, doesn't make it illegal. And even if something were illegal(Alcugs is legal, by the way), that does not mean you should not do it. Stop letting corporations and governments determine your morality! (Similarly, just because something is legal, does not mean you should do it. Don't forget *that* either!)
