How to play fan created ages.

Postby Mogwaii » Sat May 15, 2010 6:01 am

I'm almost hesitant to ask this, because some people won't take me seriously.

How can I play the ages you guys have made?
This seems like a cool game. So from this room I can go anywhere I want? Kirel? Sure I'll go there. Hey, free T-Shirts! Ah ha! This must be the best one, it's farther away! Hey, cool website! So what exactly is an age?

You will be needing a copy of Uru Complete Chronicles, and you will need to download the magic that is Drizzle.

Just follow the instructions on that page.

You can see that there's no need to be afraid to ask questions here :)

We should sticky this topic.
And add a link to it on the site's front page.

There is a link to http://www.guildofwriters.com/wiki/Playing_Fan_Ages on a front page!

Not quite. That link is from the main page of the wiki, which is not actually linked from the front page of the site. (There are two links from http://www.guildofwriters.com/ to http://wiki.guildofwriters.com/, but this is a broken address. The wiki is actually located at http://www.guildofwriters.com/wiki. A newcomer who doesn't know this might very reasonably see the broken link and infer that the wiki no longer exists.

As far as I can tell, the only way to get from the homepage to the wiki purely by following links is to go through the forums.
Have Ages, and link to them without bindings. [Words 1:13]

As a newcomer to the website, I ran into this issue myself. Eventually I figured out how to correctly access the wiki :p

This is a DNS issue where it works for some people and not for others. All of the links on the forum should direct to guildofwriters.com/wiki.

And I vote for changing the main site link to that URL, too... just because there are these DNS issues all the time.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
