The Bahro

Postby Wamduskasapa » Sun Jun 06, 2010 5:16 am

There has been so many times that I have wished to see the Bahro up close and personal. Specially in our off line gaming. There has been many a time that I have expected one to show up as I turned a corner or looked up after hearing their screach or wings.

Since Myst 5 has been added to URU I have been expecting someone to use one of the Global PRPs to activate these NPA within this game we love. My questions are ~ What prevents us from using the following PRPs and OGGs in URU?? and How may these minor tribulations be overcome???

Global_BahroLinkInOut02.prp
Global_BahroLinkInOutConfused.prp
Global_BahroLinkInOutFriendly.prp
Global_BahroLinkInOutTortured.prp
Global_BahroLinkInScaredOut.prp
Global_BahroSing01.prp
Global_BahroSing02.prp
Global_dlmrBahroShape.prp

Well I was there for the Bahro incident , and it was rather dissapointing for one thing to meet a fake Bahro (seeing as how I've yet to meet a real on) and secondly the Bahro are Cyan's we can't use them Yeesha or the DRC... I wonder what would happen is someone tried to bring in Old Yeesha though...eh probably more trouble than it is worth.

In our Drizzle versions of URU Offline we already have the Bahro flying around the arch and hear them screaching and flapping when ever we roam Ae'gura, The Bevins and The Guilds. For our Offline game it would remove some of the lonelyness to have an unexpected humble friend show up now and then. Please remember there are some of us unable to participate in the Shards, MOULa or MORE - because of where we are located...

MOULa is open to everyone, as far as I know, there are no country/location restrictions.

MOULa does not restrict membership by location, and I never heard of any Shard admin forbidding access from certain countries.

The Bahro we added to the offline city and hood are just animations, not actual avatars. We tried to also convert the Bahro avatar, but it turned out the Avatar types (male & female) are hard-coded into the client, and the Bahro are of a third type, so they do not work in POTS.

The Problem I have is that I reside within a VA Hospice. After the hacking attacks all internet access was terminated for patients, except for a few (very slow) WiFi hot spots on the first floor (my room is on the 3rd). The only internet access that I can have is Mobile BroadBand and while fast (256KB/s) you are not allowed online gaming and are restricted to 5 GB per month with a 25 cent fine for each MB above that. That 5 GB limit is the same for all 7 of the Mobile Broadband ISP available to me. So it is my ISP and the VA that says no - not the URU community

Oh, okay. Not much we can do there, I guess :(

 It would have been so nice if it were possible to import the Bahro or even the Bat animations from Myst 5 into URU

(there are almost 50 PRPs that deal with the Bahro)

Myst V's avatar system is even more different from POTS - mostly in that it barely has one, because you can never see the player avatar.

I can't recall seeing any Bahro brain objects, so I *think* they were just animations in Myst5. But I'm not sure off-hand.
