Missing footsteps sounds in CC ?

Hello everyone,
I am working on the Training Wall in Gahreesen. I repaired almost everything to get it working on CC, but as you know, when you try to use flymode to go in the Wall area, you crash.
This bug is caused by missing footsteps sounds in the file : "GlobalAvatars_District_Audio.prp".
I first tried to copy this file from an Until Uru version as the Wall was working on it. Unfortunately, then I had a crash in Ahnonay, as Ahnonay and the swimming sounds weren't yet created in Until Uru.
So, I edited the file from CC to have both the swimming sounds and the Wall area sounds. It was not a big problem, I had strange bugs at first but now it is fixed. I don't crash when I enter the Wall area or the swim region of Ahnonay, and I can hear the footsteps sounds. :)

But there are four more footsteps sounds (they are not in any Age) that are still buggy: you can notice this if you try to create an Age with every kind of footsteps sounds regions in it. They are called: "metalladder", "puddle", "mud", "brush".

I don't know where I can find them to add it to the file, I looked into MOULa, UU, CC, ABM...
Do you know in which game it was supposed to be ?

I have a tutorial explaining how to add the two Gahreesen sounds (called "maintainerglass" and "maintainerstone"), so I'll post it but it would be better if it could tell how to have every sounds...

That's good detective work.

There are also other ways to circumvent those footsteps problems. You will find more information about the climbing wall problems by doing searches on the forums here. Perhaps it would be a good idea to link everything together.

The Wall prp file as patched by drizzle (or distributed by the DI dataserver) fixes the sound issue differently: It changes the sound regions to use sounds existing in POTS

Thanks a lot for the file, Diafero. It seems Drizzle does not patch it... I have already looked in most of Drizzle functions, but I can't find it. Or was it with the Offline-KI ? Even in the file in "ageachive" I can't find it. But it will be better if anyone can use the original sounds.

And Chacal, about the Wall, I have already spend hours in the forum to find anything about it, don't worry ;) . Now I have only two problem, one with the Nexus (not a big problem, you can still use it) and one with the climb. I also repaired the Wall journals bug (wrong cover and wrong pages). I thought too it would be cool to have a tutorial on the GoW, but I wanted to be sure that there wasn't already one. The only I found was the one from LiquorCooChee about To D'ni, and I wanted to make it working on CC as it is the only version to work with Drizzle.

The problem is that it is almost impossible to make the climbing working on CC, but at least you can still have almost everything. I'll post the other tutorial I made about the Wall, but I prefer to separate the footsteps sounds problem and the Wall problem, as the tutorial is already very long.

It's a Pots modification, so you need to go to the Conversion tab of Drizzle, fill out the "Pots folder" and hit the Start button to the right of it.

Ah yes, I totally forgot this button :oops: . I'm really stupid. I thought it was with the offline-KI, as I first saw it on the OfflineKI Changelog...
I never understood why this was here, and never used it. Thanks.

It is a good idea to post a tutorial. We have a lot of tutorials about making new Ages, and not enough about hacking. I remember some long discussions about the Wall, but it must be on a private forums if it wasn't here. The gist of it is, after much experimenting, it seems the actual climbing is impossible with the CC client. Your separate experiment confirms that.

The wall journal covers will also be fixed in the next version of the offline KI, I did that a week ago or so ;-) (you can check it out on DI)

By "wrong pages", I mean that the pages are "linking book" pages and not "notebook pages". I'll explain this in the tutorial.
By the way, how is looking your cover ? You can have a strange texture with ugly squares on it. I found the way to have the real texture, looking normal and working with every languages (not only English).
