Any knowledge of Mudpie

Hi Everyone

I've decided to post this thread as an invitation for anyone from the old days of the Uru community to come forward to give any information they may have on mudpie or older incarnations of Uru or perhaps even personal screenshots. The main reason for doing this is to store any information concerning Uru's history that hasn't been lost (like those from UO after it went down) and compile it together so perhaps in the future, chapters on the history of Uru.

I'll be posting this on here, UO forums and MOUL forums so alot of people can come forwards who don't always go on each forum.

Hope to get some feedback and some interest specially if some unexpected stuff turns up.

I remember RIUM+ (I think that's his name) had a huge collection of screenshots etc. from MUDPIE, however he's extremely skittish about releasing them because he's afraid Cyan doesn't want him to. I find that to be rather silly considering NDA's only last 3 years, and MUDPIE is much older than that. So if you can get him to show you stuff, good for you, but he's rather hard to reach.

I'm signed in to multiple IM networks for around sixteen hours a day, I respond to emails, PMs and forum threads mentioning my name fairly promptly... I'm rather busy with other things in my life but I'm not exactly "hard to reach" However, if you just want to ask me to release something, don't bother.

(a while ago I added a fingerprint to an image, sent it to someone whom I thought I could trust & told them to never share it to anyone. It's now public. This has happened more than once, with more than one image/fingerprint/person. It makes me a very sad panda. And yes, I know exactly who they are.)

For now, the bulk of that data's been archived to multiple redundant, encrypted locations and while there is no risk of it ever disappearing, it would take me a minimum of a few hours to get something specific out (it's tens of gigabytes to sort through). A lot of that is still under NDA (The NDAs I've signed had no expiry and even when lifted, some clauses were permanent). NDA expired or not, technically allowed to or not, I still wouldn't release anything if I wasn't comfortable with it or if I didn't have express permission.

I've said this before in multiple threads - I will never release a lot of it and I will only release things when I feel it's right and when I have the time to do it properly. I will not release anything that I have a even vague suspicion that Cyan doesn't want released. My personal discretion is way tighter than Cyan's wishes to make doubly sure I don't step on their toes.

You'll have better luck trying to get something straight from Cyan, or waiting for RAWA to answer you. :p

Not this again... if this is about Chiso, I'll state what I stated when you poked me... everything on there came from a public source. There may in fact be somethings from you on there... but the only things from you that are on there? were posted publicly to Uru Obsession, and I grabbed them before I ever spoke to you. If you'll remember the discussion when you gave me some stuff, i specifically said I had some of these already, from the UO topic. (and those were the only ones I posted, if I screwed up, and posted some other stuff, all you had to do was tell me which ones shouldn't be there, and I'd remove them...) So, what you post is your business, but once its posted in public, its /public/.

I will note for the record, when RIUM+ came to me and mentioned some stuff that was on there he didn't want public, I asked him which ones they were so they could be removed. He wouldn't give me an answer. I can't remove what I don't know shouldn't be there, and RIUM+, of all people, should know that.

EDIT: RIUM+ poked me again, this wasn't about Chiso, sorry all, and now to return to your regularly scheduled... err... i dunno. anyways!

As I just said to Kaelis on IM: Chiso or any other gallery hosting them now are not the problem. He got it from somewhere public, yes, that's not the issue. The issue is that someone else put it up in public in the first place. It doesn't matter now and I wouldn't want anything removed because it's already public. It's the original persons whom I gave them to, who went back on their promise to not show anyone, leaking it anyway. That makes me a very sad panda.
