So, if I'm right does DirtSand + GoW Fork = Free URU?

And, if I am right, could a client be build to run fan Ages offline without requiring POTS?

Yes to both. Though an offline-client is further down on the todo list, as far as I know.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

The MOUL-compatible client doesn't support single player at all right now. That's on the TODO list, but it's not going to be seen for quite a while.

In the meantime, we might create something like a virtual machine image that you can download to run a local server. We need to know if there's demand for such a thing before we put effort into it, though. And this will of course have to wait until after we've got a solid server up and running ourselves.

DirtSand+CWE = free Plasma. Free URU requires a content license, which we don't have from Cyan yet.

I think the answer will be *yes*.
But the internal client binary can load any Age off-line, could there be a solution here? Or still have a license issue preventing that binaries to be distributed?

Why not simply publish instructions on how to compile / install a server, like what is done for Alcugs?

There's already a README available for anyone who has the technical knowledge, but I suspect most of the artists would love to be able to setup a server for testing without needing to learn how to use Linux and a terminal.

That is indeed a good thinking. A setup.exe and a launch.bat would be fine to many people I guess. ;)

It will be a bit more complicated than that... but not hugely more complex.

Well, at least it gets us closer to a free "Community URU". Anyway, I can't wait for the GoW shard and the free client! :) :) :)
