I missed some of those threads, that means there is really too much drama for me to follow..

So 1250 forum members have come to you and said "the current Nexus setup is horrible"?
That's a fairly large response, especially since a bunch of them have poofed, or lurk, or generally can't be bothered to respond to stuff that often...
No, not /everyone/ on this board agrees with you, and those that might agree that the current situation is not the best, I'd definitely disagree that /all/ of them agree that another Nexus is the solution.

This whole disscusion seems to be "the" example for what was stated as the reason for most people, why they don't want to have anything to do with URU anymore.
We brought an idea. We are willing to go through with this idea. But all we hear is:"You won't be able to do it!" "Your not allowed!", "Stop trying to change something!" etc.
It was all possible to be created. We are allowed to do anything, since Open Source means exactly that, to take the source and make something out of it. We change things, that we think are bad, cause those that don't want to change it are just too comfortable to use any effort on changing things "that can be lived with".
Well that's that.
I take a stand as a new joined community Member, that was happy to see OS coming out, just weeks later after I joined. That was happy that finally age building, might get a little less complicated (PyPRP2 being less coding and more focus on building ages) and more open cause of GOW Server where bugs would be gone, where the guild would finally be able to make ages available that we as a guild brought together.
If those that disagree with any change, or with the change in the Nexus System disagree, are people that don't want to play online anyways, why not just leave us and our project work in peace. If it doesn't concern you, hold your peace!
Nathan, I am more than ready to model out some things. In fact I have already made little concept sketch and expect a PM off you to discuss further things.
Open Uru is still running and if GoW doesn't fork, then Open Uru will bring some changes. And if it has to be, we can always start our own shard, when dirtsand or MOSS is far enough and implement it there. And for all those that see armageddon coming for URU, at least we did something and we will be able to look at our creation and say, "We did this." This is what Age creation should be about, not credibility, fame or general acceptance.
Short Sketch

Is there a facepalm emote on this forum? I mean that we're not going to need the Community Nexus. Or any other NEW nexus. We decided that it's just easier to redesign Cyan's Nexus GUI, based of of Tweek's concept for it Nexus. This will allow us to integrate fan ages into the Nexus. Have them be sorted alphabetically, without long lists, and customize hoods at will if we decide to enable that function. it'll be a little more work but it's better than a whole new nexus/library system as the current Nexus needs work as well anyway. It's best to kill two birds with one stone than spend time working on throwing two rocks at the same time. Get it?
I am going to design a GUI based off of Tweek's design personally during the next six weeks. Stretching it out along with other projects will give me more time then doing it all at once and waiting on Diafero's help with the python. Hopefully we'll be able to implement a system that's more sane than the current one, and will look sleeker, and easy to understand.
nathan2055 wrote:I hate to say it, but both ideas have Pros and Cons. You can access Ages more easily by rewriting Cyan's Nexus, but you lose the ability to build a hangout spot in a WNexus.
The unfortunate fact is, no matter what we do, it seems to me we keep ending up at "Rewrite the Cyan Nexus", whether we want a WNexus or not.

But the point was to make Ages more manageable not to create a hangout spot, a spot I may point out that online Uru has plenty of already.
