Relto Sharing

Postby diafero » Thu Sep 29, 2011 4:21 am

Thanks to an observation of Sirius, I just enabled Relto Sharing on the Shard :) . It should work the same as in UU or MOUL: Open your Relto book, click "Share", then click on another avatar, he will be presented the book, and when he clicks the cover he links to your Relto. I successfully tested this with two machines of mine, more testing would be appreciated.

However, there is a weird issue - and before I start making work-arounds, I'd like to know if anybody else is experiencing it: The one who is invited to go to some Relto, after arriving, has a totally broken avatar control. It seems as it the avatar moves twice as much as it should (both in terms of translation and rotation), and when the key is released, it snaps back to the position it is supposed to be in. The only way to stop this from happening is to quit the client...
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

I already experimented such glitches with Multistage Behaviors. IIRC it was when I tried to set a stage which didn't exist (let's say index 480, while there are only four stages).
Maybe there is a stage index called by the client which doesn't exists.

I think using a second Multistage Behavior might debug it. I will try redoing this bug.

MultiStageBehMods... I avoided them as much as I could, lol. It should not be impossible to remove it from the prp file, but we would first have to find out where it is stored. I just checked all "Global*.prp" files with a script, none contains a MultiStageBehMod.
Maybe this is something more hard-coded within the client? I noticed, while making it work, that a "plAvCoopMsg" is sent during sharing, which I never saw before.

I also found a work-around, maybe I can implement that to happen automatically if we can not fix a prp: Re-loading the avatar, with the /avatar command (admin-only), fixed the problems for me.

Unfortunately, I could not find a work-around, not the cause of the problem. Therefore, I disabled Relto sharing again :(
