all quiet on the shard?

Postby Acorn » Sun Sep 30, 2012 12:57 am

no-one seems to be posting anything much in this forum these days but are exciting things happening behind the scenes with the shard? Or is everyone burnt out after the hard work of the last update including getting Tre'bivdil up and working, and you're all catching your breath? Or is it something more sinister and depressing, ie everyone has got fed up?

I think it's mostly that everyone is busy with other projects right now. I've got something brewing, for instance, but it won't be user-visible.

Ahhh, may the power be with you, Adam ... Many blessings to you and I'm keeping my fingers crossed ... :P

Ok, and dear Acorn, maybe you remember that the MOUL forums have been completely dead, except
for a few Teledahn ramblings, before Cyan and the OpenUru crew decided to push something through,
to avoid or at least suspend a complete MOULa shut down ... On the TOC forums nobody at all is posting
atm except myself lol, but only because the TOC's precious shard admins were celebrating their birthday
last week resp. today (Mystler) ... The OpenUru forums were completely calm as well in the last weeks ...

It was actually here on the GoW forums, where we oftentimes had the most visitations compared to other
forums ... Yeah, that's how I've observed the scenery, but of course everyone has a different perspective
on everything ... Let's see how everything will develop ... Enjoy the community and don't worry about Uru
too much or anything else ... /wave ... :)

This is me with my cynical hat on, but I can't help wondering if all this business about a "fan nexus" and all the fan Ages we are allegedly suddenly going to see being added to Cyan's shard isn't meant as a distraction from the fact that OU still has nothing substantial to report on the licensing front—which, as far as I'm concerned, is of infinitely more importance than what such a nexus should look like or be called …

Couldn't agree more. We've had fan Ages for years now anyway.

I wouldn't necessarily classify your statement as sarcasm lol, when you're just a person like me, Lyros and
others, who's just trying to see things as they are rather than settling for convenient or feeble excuses ... :P

While you might be right, otherwise we'd have any news already in that direction, I believe Nalates provided
an interesting answer, though indirectly for me only, to esp. Cyan's demeanor and conduct in all of this for
years, and thus to this permanent strange, subliminal energy of uneasiness, dishonesty and such, which
constantly conveys that there's something not right somehow ...

Yeah, to Nalates comment, which felt like a little relief for me, as it affirmed my speculations and assumptions,
which people like kaelis, more directly lol, and others more indirectly said already, that Cyan is following a
complete different agenda than most in the community might think or believe, which might be ok, from Cyan's
perspective, that's my relief as I can understand them even more lol, but which doesn't put a relief on the whole
situation for all, and which shouldn't be used as a permanent basic excuse for whatever strange, reticent and
uncooperative behavior by them ...

Let's just see what will happen ... Yeah, Blessings to you all, also to those at Cyan ... :)

Not only is it all quiet but the October Sparklie is not active. I wonder if someone could flip the switch?

Recognizing that, like much of the fan-base URU effort, Gehn is a work in progress and progress is going to be at a snail's pace. But it is not simply impatience that leads me to observe that there is little evidence of activity on this shard. I have yet to find more than one other explorer present at the same time that I am there. So there is little opportunity for me to even complete the parts of the game now working and available to me.

In fact I'm hardly even getting to meet anyone I don't already know from MOULa. I know that there is a group of "regulars" who will show up for events. But the one scheduled event on my KI is happening in the middle of one of my work shifts. So I appear to be stuck again. Would it be outrageous for me to request some attempts by people who can organize things in this shard to arrange a few scheduled times when greeters will be present to help out the newbies?
