Starting Process to get into Gehn?

I am an old Uru player (all three iterations) and I recently joined this forum to be able to get into the Gehn shard. I logged into the forum but I don't know actually how to get into Gehn. One time it appeared it was working but there was an error message that I needed to install MOULa. I have the game installed, am active in it (as Big John) and have completed all the puzzles. How do I actually get into Gehn?

Can you please be more specific as to what you have tried so far, and what the error was that you received?

Thanks for the reply. Here is what I have done: (1) I joined the Writers Guild Forum, (2) I downloaded the Gehn software and as that finished I checked the box which says "go to Gehn" (or something similar), (3) as the software started to run I received a message which essentially said 'you must load the MOULa game". I already have the game on my system (and was just in it last night in the city and talked to players who said I should join the Gehn group). (4) I attempted to load the MOULa game again and the message said, essentially, my email address is already registered. My question is, how do I get into Gehn to see what the writers have created? Is there a place to "start the shard" on the forum page? If I just click on the "Gehn Shard" icon at the top of the forum page I don't go to the Gehn shard, I go to the page which speaks of the installer and the forum. As suggested on that page, I completely logged out after I joined the forum (it says that will enable the Gehn Shard to recognise my Forum username and password.) Even after that, I never am able to get to the actual Gehn shard to play. What am I doing wrong?

Hey, BigJohn, welcome to the GoW and our Gehn Shard ...

When you have installed the Gehn Shard correctly you will actually have a second Uru installation,
which you can launch just like MOULa, e.g. by a desktop shortcut ... On my desktop I have a link called
'Myst Online - Uru Live' and a link called 'UruLauncher.exe-Gehn Shard' (I called it Gehn Shard myself as
I have many Uru installations to distinguish lol ...

Ok, when you run that Gehn Shard installer it'll ask you to show it the place on your harddrive where
you want to install the Shard (I myself chose a special partition and folder to avoid the hassle with
authorization issues etc.), with the next step the installer is asking you to point it to your MOULa resp.
Uru Live directory, cause then it will grab (copy) your MOULa files from there and put them directly in
your designated Gehn Shard directory, means it makes all the work for you lol ... This it does real fast
and when ready you only need to go to your Gehn Shard directory and send the UruLauncher.exe to
your desktop for your own convenience (if you intend to install more shards you better add something
like 'Gehn' or so to that shortcut as I did) ...

Yeah, now you should be ready to go and log onto Gehn with your forums name and password ... Enjoy ...

Btw, there are only two fan ages available on Gehn ... when you want to see more or even all of the fan
ages available you have to install the DI Shard (Deep Island Shard) for an online experience or the offline
alternative (TPots plus Offline KI and Drizzle), but that is sth else ... but for now, welcome on Gehn ...

Janaba, thanks for your reply! When I finally located the executable for the Gehn shard and ran it, there were three .dll's missing from the installation. The first was "MSVCP100.dll", the second was "MSVCR100.dll", and the third was "d3dx9_42.dll". I loaded the first two using the software Dll-Files Fixer. I had to think about the third because the Nvdia PhysX version I was using was specifically for another game I play. However, after some thought I loaded the PhysX version the Gehn shard needed and I am happily wandering the cleft redoing the puzzles for perhaps the 10th time! I also looked around and found the new cathedral (great work!) and the new age with the sandstone blocks. What else is new?

Glad to hear you got it sorted out.

You've seen the new Age content currently available on Gehn. Many of the other changes are general improvements and bugfixes. It's hoped to have additional new game content as we continue.
