(I'm not much a fan of ingame meetings either but unfortunately almost no-one uses IRC or CyanChat)
Aloys, one more possibility to stay updated about meetings and such would be to use the news feed at http://www.guildofmessengers.com You can even have it in french if you're feeling nostalgic in such an english/d'ni game.
