This Age primarily plays with light, similar to how its done in Myst 3, however, with colors of light. Here's some ideas for the buildings...

The buildings have a device at the top to reflect or refract light...
Obelisks will collect light...

Are these Ages with coloured lights trying to indicate something about lighting to the plugin developers? >.>
