IIRC, the linking book to the empty Kadish vault was always available in MOUL. In offline Uru, it was only available after completing TPotS.

Ahhhhh! That's why I was confused. Your right because I couldve sworn I could get to the alternate vault from the start during moul. Alright, well, glad my game isn't just messed up.
