For some reason the Shard dislikes me.

I even went in and modified my password for the Forum - logged off - deleted internet files - deleted the Gehn Folder - did a cold boot - logged onto Forum - reinstalled Gehn Shard - and I still have the original problem

We manually removed your account from the shard database. Can you try relogging into the forum one more time? THe last error I'm seeing in the log claims that your account doesn't exist.

NOPE - no good

The server log seems to have stopped updating, and we've got another user reporting this issue as well. I'll do some investigating and see what I can come up with.

Okay, I found a bug in an earlier fix I made to the account script. Let's try logging in and out one more time.

OK I can now log in BUT I have another error, will put it on the the bug sheet...

I'm afraid my actions may have been the trigger for the last two server lockups. Both times, I was dropping a pellet in the Ercana City Silo. When the quality testing machine attempted to update my pellet score in my KI, the server locked up. A minute later (or whatever the timeout interval is), I got a NET 6 error pop-up and could not log back in.

I'm running on a PC under Windows XP.

Update from Branan:

It's actually not the pellets. The server will try to kick you off when you drop a pellet (because it doesn't know how to deal with pellets yet). What happens then is that it enters a deadlock because it's already in a bad state from previous errors. If somebody had tried to connect or disconnect instead of you dropping the pellet, it also would have locked up.

2/17/12 7:36 EST or GMT -5 I am not able to login to the shard. I get a dialog of "Logging in to the Shard Please wait" and it stops there. No authentication error nothing. Is the Shard up?

Looks like it got locked up again. I've smacked it around a bit, so we should be good now.

Hi everyone! I am trying to get onto the Gehn Shard for the first time.
Everything was going great---right up until it got stuck on "Initializing Patcher".
There are just three dots after "Aprox. Time Remaining" & "Update Remaining".
I've likely missed something obvious..... Any ideas?
