well, the fact that Cyan's version of Myst in Uru is much, much closer to realmyst's than it is to myst v's... i'd say that Cyan made myst v myst like that for other reasons than "that's how myst is, now, guys"

Alas, I don't think I took any screenshots of the new system, or I at least can't find them now. Next time it comes off the backburner, I'll try to remember to take screenshots^^

I agree... but... I find it hard to believe that after a hundred some years Myst would be in great shape i.e. all the machinery functioning and whatnot. However I have been thinking about it and Myst was not abandoned ALL that time. Both Yeesha (confirmed) and Esher (likely but unknown for how long) spent time on the Island. Both of them could have done some maintinence too keep the old place up and running. The other Ages I would doubt would have recieved the same TLC.

Just wanted to say that I am looking forward to RealMYST ages in URU.

Hm... Maybe MystV's version is a point in the far future, or an alternate Myst? The Kadish vault seems to show that time-travel is possible with Linking (or it's a different vault in a different Age...) I know the canon would go to say that the Myst book is the same one you use at the end of the first Myst game, but suppose one of the pages gets replaced or altered?

Nobody knows, I think. Or at least, those that know won't tell. Whoever does this managed to stay unrecognised in public so far.
