The Kadish vault seems to show that time-travel is possible with Linking (or it's a different vault in a different Age...) I know the canon would go to say that the Myst book is the same one you use at the end of the first Myst game, but suppose one of the pages gets replaced or altered?
Sorry, but the only one who can time-travel is Yeesha (as seen with the POTS Bahro cave).

To be obstinate, I pretty sure it has been written that all linking actually means shifting through time, as well as space and improbability.
It's just that only Yeesha knows how to traverse the time axis in one and the same age. (..or so she says...)

I just wonder, wouldn't there be rights issues in that?

Yes and no; not really if you own realMyst. But there's always the gray legal area of the reverse engineering needed to produce the tools.
What is definitely a no-no is the publishing of the converted Ages; much like we don't publish converted EoA or MOUL Ages.

Right, as Aloys says, you'll need to have a copy of realMyst already for it to work, and it will work with that.

OK, do I understand this correctly???
If I own a copy of Real Myst it is possible to have a latter version of Drizzle being able to convert it??
If yes - How Soon will we have that enhancement??
Since the attainment of the age of Rime hinges on game completion, does that mean the game is and will be fully functional within the URU environment??

No promises; it's on the back-burner right now. And no, it wouldn't be fully functional. Even if that is possible, it just wouldn't be worth the effort since you can play realMyst offline anyway.

Just to let you know Real Myst is available again.
After years of seeing the occasional $50 copy pop up on Amazon, Cyan has made a deal with Good Old Games
http://www.gog.com/to sell both Real Myst and Riven at $5.99. I just finished Real Myst on a Windows Vista system. It has to be played in compatability mode for Windows XP (service Pack 2) but plays perfectly.
The game files have a .dni suffix instead of .age. There are three of them instead of seven so some of the ages are doubled up. That would be the mechanical, stoneship, channelwood, selenitic ages, Myst, Atrus at K'veer, and rime. It's all there for anyone brave enough to try but it plays just fine in it's own game engine.

Wow. Now if the eBay auction goes over what I am willing to pay, there is one with the game and strategy guide sitting at $20 right now with 6 days left. If it stays at $20 I will likely get it, if it doesn't then I will go to GoG and get theirs.
BTW I noticed GoG has Uru: CC, Myst: ME and The Manhole. I didn't see Hexisle, what a shame since like RealMYST it is another game that goes for high dollar.
