Incredible, i have the original from years ago, but never succeeded in running it on W7.

Is the "GoG"one diferent?
or is there a trick I am not aware of?

Beats me. I doubt Cyan recompiled it.
RealMyst works in XP compatibility mode (it never worked for me on my XP machine).
Riven works in W95 compatibility mode.

What you get for $5.99:
- games that work on your current OS;
- independence from outdated, fragile and unstable physical media;
- freedom from DRM, CD-key registration and on-line authentication;
- no need for media in the drive;
- no need to swap media while playing Riven;
- RealMyst at your monitor's native resolution (I play it at 1920 x 1080).

I recommend checking http://www.myst.com/. It contains links to download MYST and URU games legally (GOG and Steam are on that list).

You forgot: Hidden fees that inflate the list price, and supporting an immature company that pulls childish publicity stunts.

Hidden fees that are the result of you using a card that specifically states in the agreement you signed to use it that transaction charges may apply to foreign transactions, right?

The GOG arguement is dead and buried, really. You choose to use y vendor over x because y said you're awesome and x played a joke on you - how exactly does that affect anything? The rest is just marketing and the shaky argument that not being able to access your game downloads for a few days is somehow a reason to never use them again.

If the primary reason you shop at a place is how valued you feel, then you're allowing your ego to get in the way of the smartest choice.

I think it's important for customers of online stores to be able to relate their unique views and recommendations. If Hoikas feels GOG takes advantage of their customers, that should be respected. Plus, sometimes it matters how a shopper feels about a store rather than the price and/or options. Would you give your credit card number to a place you didn't trust and feel good about?

Actually, I would say if the primary argument is NOT how you feel about the store, and how you feel the store feels about you, you will end up with trouble.
