I think, while Lontahv and Chacal were speaking in opposition, their posts can be combined to represent a pretty concise viewpoint on the matter.
Cyan's control is limited, so we "can" pretty much do anything. If we create an Age that borrows heavily from Cyan content, they're just not present enough to force us to stop.
On the other hand, most guildmembers would agree that doing so wouldn't be terribly interesting. We're looking for new, imaginative content. In a strong way we're a guild of artists more than we are a guild of writers.
This does open a whole new can of worms as to people using Cyan plot content, though. I don't think the community would have an opposing reaction to Ages that use D'ni stuff in the same sense that a work of fanfiction work - in fact, I think we might enjoy it, and that IS something Cyan would "wish" we didn't do. I think if we have plans to do anything of the sort, we should probably wait to see what Cyan's plans are for UU. If they can get their own server up, than we'll go by our previously compiled
Age Content Rules to ensure inclusion on their official server.
