Indeed, why replicate the ULM page that is dynamically generated from the actual ULM database?

Hmm... good point... well maybe we could instead improve ULM in this way? I dunno, all I know is that ULM doesn't have all the ages, only the ones people uploaded to ULM, which, not everyone does.

I agree, especially in this earlier stage where much of what the GoW is doing is still in the pipeline.

What I was thinking wouldn't be tied to ULM. So this wouldn't deal with prefix numbers or any of the technical aspects of an age. The purpose of this database, would be to present currently released and soon-to-be-released ages in a layman's format. I think screenshots are a must. Descriptions, status and news on each age. I don't think this needs to directly reside on the home page (and in that sense this is something of a separate ides,) but could be one of the links on the home page.

Either way, I see the home page idea as being the place where explorers new to fan created ages come whether they are interested in learning to write or simply interested in exploring these new ages. :)

With all due respect - that sounds awfully much like what the new ulm should be able to do when done.

Oh, well honestly I was trying to not have one of my ideas end up with yet more work for you. :oops:

But since you say that these are already planned features of ULM, you've got me curious as to what you have planned. :D

Well, not neccesarily planned features, but very easy to implement as such when things get working.

@greendragoon

I am working on a idea that is something like what you describe over on the Maintainer Wiki, and no the wiki is not up or public yet. (Waiting for my "weekend" to apply some ideas)

Anyway the ULM will handle a lot of this but once a Age goes public the project I am working on is sort of a running narrative based off the Maintainer Inspection thread for the Age. Screen shots, the odd map or sketch, IC versions of what is discussed in the "Inspections", and all the rest wrapped up in one spot for easy browsing.

It's my pet "big" project, and now that we have our official wiki I am going to try and get it off the ground.

you're making a new version of ULM?! :D then perhaps you could just add these features to that!

We'll aim to add those features :)
Along with quite a couple of others I won't divulge yet, cause I don't know for sure if it's gonna work, and for the surprise effect as well..
