Well I solved the problems of most everything being black. I pretty much started from scratch and re-imported from Max. And boom its all there.

Now I just have to fix size issues. When I linked in it looked a tad bit small for my tastes. Other then that its time to start looking at water and adding a house.

I have a strange problem too, I see my building, see the textures for a part, the rest casts a shade. The stairs and square are not visible, what can be wrong here?

check the normals on your models ... and the shade is probably caused by "Shadbuff" being on (which it is by default) ... switch it off.

Brings building of pla... err, wha???

I have no idea of anything, but what is that bright object covering the bottom half of the screen? I assume it's not supposed to be there and that's what your question concerns? An intended region/collider that is not set to the right type, so that it shows up as visible geometry instead, perhaps?
Some object with negative scale, maybe?

I'm trying to get obj files into Blender. That's working for a part, but the textures are not displayed the proper way. I tried many styles, and results in the building off grid, or half textured. I'm better in 3D max with texturing, so I UV map my buildings. Anybody got a idea, or a tutorial how to import obj objects made in 3d Max?

use the nif exporter plugin for Max ... and the nif plugin for Blender ... they keep the uv's and the texture files intact ....

you can get them from HERE

Yes, going the .nif route should probably do you well: .obj interchange will only preserve a single UV-map per mesh.
