But do you have ANYONE to build it? or wire it?
Because the people you need to convince are not random people on a forum, any forum at all. But the people building and wiring the Age. Once you've got /their/ co-operation, than you can start saying you've got people that agree. Because random voices on a forum are meaningless without people actually doing the work of getting it in-game. Good luck with that, Nathan.

Who really IS going to be building this Nexus? I haven't learned Blender yet, but Chloe was planning to build the Age, and I think Tweek and Diafero were going to work together on the GUI and code. Chloe really hasn't posted on the thread for a few months. I'm really not sure who is going to build the end product now...

I drew up some ideas a few years ago, what people want to do with them is up to them. I have a great dislike for online Uru and have no plans to be a part of it. When I'm in the mood to build it's for offline only and even then I don't really care for it anymore.

BTW: do we have any authorization to use the Cyan assets from their Nexus (models/textures) or would we need to start from scratch?

I'm going to throw in some two cents here, since I haven't yet.
1. I've come to the conclusion that from a storyline perspective, a Nexus isn't really a great idea. A library would be better as it's more open, can allow for interaction between players, and just looks better within D'ni. Unfortunately, a library introduces the problem that there will, eventually, (hopefully) be too many ages to stick on pedestals. Right now there's only a few MOUL compatible fan ages out there. Eventually there will be more, maybe someday as many as there are POTS fan ages. To that end a proactive sensible approach to both problems should be in order. It should be more of a library, but with a nexus like interface. Perhaps, as someone suggested, the books can be stored behind glass to protect them from air/dirt when not in use, and machines set up within the library, with interfaces that can call the books down so that a player can link with the book. Then return it to it's shelf when not needed. Or something. Either way, it should be more open to just more than one player. As I stated before, I don't think D'ni areas should be included here, especially if it's not a Nexus but a place within D'ni, you simply can't have them in it. I think this is the best approach, as it allows for a new location within D'ni, plus a way to access ages that's publically available to everyone, and multiple people at one time.
2. I myself will offer insight into how it should look, and how it should interact, but for doing the work, please count me out. I'm focusing my work right now on bringing my own stuff to life. I'm also now focused on bringing the stuff that other people have come up with concepts for to life:Tweek wrote:I drew up some ideas a few years ago, what people want to do with them is up to them.
People like Tweek. I'd much rather finish the concepts of the few within this Community, that know how things should look and feel within Uru and D'ni, so that they may decide to return one day to see their concepts in action. I'd much rather inspire the blood and sweat of those whose future Uru is depedent upon, then waste my productivity bringing concepts to life for people who just don't seem to understand what this game needs in order to survive. (This is directed at no one in particular, just my own personal observations of this Community in general)
